Mining Compact Chain – GB/T 12718 & MT/T 929 | Grade C & D | 22×86 to 60×197 mm
Mining compact chains manufactured by Ever-power Engineer Class Chain Co., Ltd from 20Mn2, 25MnV, and 23MnNiMoCr54 alloy steel. Available in Grade C and Grade D, covering diameter-pitch combinations from 22×86 to 60×197 mm. Manufactured to GB/T 12718-2009 and MT/T 929-2004. Alternate vertical links have flattened sides, reducing overall chain height compared to a round link chain of equivalent nominal diameter. Suitable for armoured face conveyors (AFC), stage loaders, and road header machines where trough clearance constraints prevent the use of round link chains. Surface treatment options include hot-dip galvanising, electro-galvanising, blackening, carburising, and powder coating. Certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and MA Mining Safety standard.

Product Overview
What Is a Mining Compact Chain?
Mining compact chains are designed as the core traction component for scraper conveyors and armoured face conveyors (AFC) in coal and hard-rock mining. The compact profile — where alternate vertical links have flattened sides — reduces the overall chain height compared to an equivalent round link chain, allowing fitment in conveyors with tighter trough clearances.
Ever-power Engineer Class Chain Co., Ltd manufactures compact chains from 20Mn2, 25MnV, and 23MnNiMoCr54 alloy steel, processed through precision blanking, braiding, flash butt welding, and quench-temper heat treatment to strengthen the link structure. The product range covers chain diameters from 22×86 to 60×197 mm, in Grade C and Grade D.
All chains are manufactured to GB/T 12718-2009 እና MT/T 929-2004 industry standards. Each batch passes multi-stage inspection including welding-seam quality checks and heat-treatment uniformity verification before dispatch.

Construction & Standards

Material: 20Mn2 / 25MnV / 23MnNiMoCr54
Three alloy steel grades are available to match load requirements. All are processed through precision flash butt welding and quench-temper heat treatment to achieve the specified Grade C or Grade D mechanical properties.
Compact Profile Construction
Alternate vertical links have flattened sides, reducing overall chain height versus an equivalent round link chain of the same nominal diameter. This allows the chain to fit conveyors with tighter trough clearance profiles.
Standards: GB/T 12718-2009 & MT/T 929-2004
Manufactured and tested to GB/T 12718-2009 and MT/T 929-2004 industry standards, covering dimensional tolerances, mechanical properties, and acceptance testing requirements for mining compact chains.
Grade C and Grade D Available
Grade C covers standard high-strength duty. Grade D provides higher minimum breaking loads for applications where loads exceed Grade C capacity. Both grades are available across the full 22×86 to 60×197 mm size range.
Size Range: 22×86 to 60×197 mm
Ten standard diameter-pitch combinations cover a wide range of scraper conveyor and AFC equipment. Sizes follow nominal diameter and pitch combinations of 22×86, 26×92, 30×108, 34×126, 38×137, 42×146, 48×152, 52×170, 56×187, and 60×197 mm.
Surface Treatment Options
Available with hot-dip galvanising, electro-galvanising, blackening, carburising, or epoxy powder coating. Surface treatment is selected according to the humidity, temperature, and corrosive conditions of the target application.

What is the difference between a mining compact chain and a mining round link chain?
A mining round link chain (DIN 22252) has all links with a circular cross-section. A mining compact chain has alternate vertical links with flattened sides, which reduces the overall chain height for a given nominal diameter. This allows compact chains to be used in conveyors where round link chains of the same size would not fit due to trough geometry constraints.
Which steel grades are available?
Three alloy steel grades are available: 20Mn2, 25MnV, and 23MnNiMoCr54. The appropriate grade is selected based on load requirements, operating environment, and the required heat-treatment specification.
What standards do these chains comply with?
All mining compact chains are manufactured and tested to GB/T 12718-2009 and MT/T 929-2004. These standards define dimensional tolerances, mechanical property requirements, and the acceptance testing procedures applicable to compact mining chains.
What is the minimum breaking load for 42×146 Grade D?
The minimum breaking load for 42×146 Grade D is 2,770 kN, with a test load of 2,220 kN. For Grade C of the same size, the minimum breaking load is 2,220 kN with a test load of 1,770 kN.
Are compact chains available with surface treatment?
Yes. Available surface treatments include hot-dip galvanising, electro-galvanising, blackening, carburising, and epoxy powder coating. The appropriate treatment is selected based on the humidity and corrosive conditions of the operating environment.
Can compact chains be supplied as a direct replacement for existing equipment?
Yes, provided the nominal diameter, pitch, and grade match the original specification. Please provide the chain size designation and equipment make when enquiring to confirm compatibility before ordering.

Mining compact chains are part of the wider category of mining chain drive products used in coal and hard-rock material handling. Those specifying chains for coal face conveyor systems may also find useful reference in conveyor chain selection and load rating guidance, while power transmission chain standards are relevant for surface plant drives that interface with underground chain systems. For heavy-duty chain products used in adjacent mining infrastructure, heavy-duty chain engineering data እና industrial roller chain specifications provide complementary technical context.
