How To Identify 81X Series Chain

You first want to check if there is a part number on the side of the chain. This will tell you immediately which chain you have. If this information is not on the sidebar of the chain, follow the steps below.

1st: Measure the center of one pin to the center of the next pin. This is commonly referred to as the pitch and represents the dimension P in the diagram above.
2nd: measure the pin diameter, which is represented by dimension D.
3rd: Measure the roller’s diameter, represented by dimension R.
4th: Measure the width of the roller, represented by dimension W.
5th, measure the plate’s thickness, represented by dimension T.
6th: Measure the board height, denoted by dimension H.
